The Problems That Arise When You Exercise

Since TJ and I started P90X together back in June, an interesting thing has happened. We run into a lot of problems. These are real problems, people.

For instance, we went for a walk in our neighborhood with the kids after naps this afternoon. In a hurry, we both put our i-phones in the pockets of our shorts.  We didn’t even walk a half a block until both of us simultaneously pulled our phones out of our pockets and said that if we kept them in, our shorts would fall off.

  • Problem: Our shorts are falling off!
  • Solution: Keep working out and seeing results.

This leads me to tell you about another frustration. I just bought some new shorts a month ago. You know, because my other shorts from a month before that had fallen off.

  • Problem: My NEW shorts are falling off!
  • Solution: Keep working, praying for new clothes, and seeing results.

TJ has to look professional for his job everyday.

  • Problem: Looking like a pro doesn’t include wearing pants that look like a big balloon with a belt attempting to hold them up around your waist. Sorry honey.
  • Solution: Keep working out and seeing results.

And here’s another thing. Every couple of hours, our stomachs start to growl, rumble and get just a little angry for food. It requires attention!

  • Problem: Our metabolism is kicking it into high gear and wants more food than ever!
  • Solution: Keep working out, eating right, and seeing results.

I joke around because it makes us giddy to be seeing such awesome progress in each other day after day. But the truth is that not too long ago we were complaining how nothing fit. We both had anxiety about opening up our closet full of clothes every morning and feeling like we had nothing to wear. Now instead of feeling like we have nothing to wear because everything is too small, we have nothing to wear because it’s all too big.

We both wish we had committed to being healthier sooner.

  • Problem: Most people wish they could accomplish a goal and sit on it.
  • Solution: Decide. Commit. Succeed.

We all have problems. Turn the problems that seem insurmountable into problems that make you proud.
